Scalzi's Weekend Assignment #77

Scalzi's Weekend Assignment #77:
What do you want to be when you grow up? (
This can be answered one of two ways: You can answer by saying what you wanted to be when you were a kid, or, you can answer by saying what you still want to be, one day, one way or another. It's up to you.)

Hehehe...having an older brother whom I adored, when I was a kid, what I wanted to be when I grew up was a Playboy Bunny...uh, that desire didn't last into adulthood, I'm happy to say.

Extra Credit: What did your parents want you to be when you grew up?

My mom wanted me to be a kindergarten teacher. I didn't become a teacher, but I did end up as a Master's level clinician seeing kids with psychiatric problems, soooo...that's sort of a variation on a theme.

But after all this time, I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up...and that seems to be true for many of the best people that I know...

A bunny huh? I wanted to be one for about ten seconds until I saw the costume my friend had to squeeze into every night and the heels she had to wear. And the way she had to serve drinks. Ouch.

Yeah, I got over the idea real fast one weekend when I was still in high school. I'd agreed to be a bunny for a fundraiser at the Guys' College (as opposed to the Girls' College and the Co-Ed College) in town. I'd no sooner put on heels and bunny ears than I discovered that I had absolutely no patience for anyone who'd pinch me or leer or do any of the other rude things guys do to women bringing them food and drinks. I discovered that in fact, I had a lot of desire to maim and even homicidal ideation toward those guys...and so another would-be-bunny bit the dust.

I made that exact comment on someone else's journal. I had no idea what I wanted to be when I grew up when I was a kid, and I still don't. I keep feeling like I still don't know all the options...

My girlfriends and I always wanted to be one of the Goldigger dancers on the Dean Martin show..but I soon discovered I have absolutely NO RHYTHM, and NO FLEXABILITY... So ended up in the medical field... but still want something else too. I guess we all want something more no matter what we do.

I want to be a fantasy writer. I love writing! I can write about anything at anytime. Like now for example : She sat typing out the word in her mind, hoping to impress the many critics she encountered every day. I devour book after book. You can never read too many books. ok... enough of my bragging :D
