I took this pic yesterday (Sunday) at the top of Mt. Lemon, just outside Tucson. For those of you who aren't into trees, this is an Aspen whose leaves have turned to cadmium yellow, as Aspens do each fall once the temps have dropped enough to slow the manufacture of chlorophyll, allowing the other pigments to show through. Gorgeous, huh?

ABSOLUTELY! And one of my favourite trees. There is a photographer...David Windsor...or something like that...he only works in blk/wht. This reminded me of his stuff.
;)
I come for the view and get a lesson in photosynthesis? Will wonders never cease?

This is a great choice...love the color and contrast and especially the surprisingly enticing shape of the leaves....I was looking closely into a tree as well but I think it was some version of the common maple...:)
I was curious as to what fall foliage you had found in Dallas. Sad but trie that we have to leave the state to get decent pictures!

Okay...you had to show off your scientific knowledge with the chorophyll thing, didn't you. Kind of saps the magic out of it a bit don't you think? LOL! Lovely shot...

I am in envy of what your eyes have seen!

Lovely!
Beautiful photo! I love the contrast of the yellow leaves against the pale bark. And I am envious of it being so perfectly "in focus". Did you use a tripod to shoot the photo?
Beautiful! I love the way the picture was taken!
What a handsome tree. That must be amazing to see. Nice photo.
